ELT in Maryland
The Maryland Department of Transportation Motor Vehicle Administration issued an RFP (Request for Proposals) as the first step toward implementing an ELT (Electronic Lien and Title) system. The RFP was published in April 2013. No further definite details are available yet.
The ELT program changes the lien and title process for lenders (bankers, credit unions, dealers, and other financial institutions) as lenders no longer need to store and file paper titles.
More details will be posted here as they are finalized by the state. Please also see the FAQS page.
